Erick Amick

 

Executive Director, Susan and Richard Kiphart Center for Global Health and Social Development

Erick Amick, PhD, MPH, MA is the inaugural Executive Director of the Susan and Richard Kiphart Center for Global Health and Social Development at the Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice. Erick joined the University of Chicago in 2020 where he served as the Executive Director of the Care2Prevent pediatric and adolescent HIV program at UChicago Medicine prior to joining the Crown Family School. Erick brings extensive global experience to the Kiphart Center. From 2013-2020 he expanded a diverse portfolio of global health programs for the American Academy of Pediatrics, working with global partners including USAID, UNICEF and Save the Children, to improve newborn care in countries around the world including Nepal, Ethiopia, Pakistan, Kenya, Tanzania, Sierra Leone, and Bangladesh among others. Erick was a Fulbright-Hays fellow in Tanzania, and holds masters degrees in public health (MPH) and African studies (MA) Indiana University, Bloomington, and a PhD in health sciences from Northern Illinois University.
