Community Initiatives
The Kiphart Center for Global Health and Social Development is committed to making impact in communities around the world. To achieve this objective, the Center supports community initiatives with various partners, and makes annual investments in research and interventions. The Fund for Research and Innovation in Global Health and Social Development was established to incubate cutting-edge research and interventions that address pressing global health and social development challenges. The Fund emphasizes multi-disciplinary collaboration and engagement with institutional and community partners on the ground. There are no geographical limitations to where projects may be implemented, but priority given to projects in to low- and middle-income countries, particularly among Latin American and African countries. An annual request for proposals will be made available to University of Chicago faculty to propose collaborative intervention projects. Request for proposals for the Fund are listed on UChicago’s internal funding page.
